These terms are an agreement between you and Paul Britto (“we”, “us”), the operator of Character Assess (www.character-assess.co.uk). By creating an account you agree to them. Please also read our Fair Processing Notice, which explains how we look after your data.

1. What Character Assess is

Character Assess is a self-development tool. It offers questionnaires (a curiosity profile, a personality-type quiz and an optional “Deep Dive”), and optional AI-generated content — written profiles, development plans and PDF reports — based on your answers.

It is not a clinical, medical, psychological or professional assessment service. The personality quiz is a Myers-Briggs-style indicator, not the official MBTI® instrument, and the Deep Dive is a reflective tool, not a validated test. AI-written content is generated automatically and may contain inaccuracies.

Everything Character Assess produces is a prompt for your own reflection — nothing more. It must not be used as the basis for any life decision — medical, legal, financial, relationship, employment or otherwise. You use the questionnaires, results and AI-generated content entirely at your own risk, and any decision you make remains your own responsibility.

Some results describe growth edges and potential pitfalls, and may not always feel comfortable to read. They are reflective prompts, not judgements — and not a substitute for support from a qualified professional. If you’re struggling, please reach out to your GP or a support service rather than relying on this tool.

2. Your account

  • The service is currently invite-only; you need a valid invite code to join.
  • You must provide accurate details and keep your password private. Your account is for you personally — please don’t share it.
  • You must be at least 16 to create an account.
  • You can delete your account at any time from Account settings, which permanently removes your data (see the Fair Processing Notice).

3. AI units

  • AI features are powered by prepaid credits called AI units. New accounts receive a free starting balance; further units can be bought in packages.
  • Units are not money: they have no cash value, can’t be transferred to another account, and can’t be exchanged for cash.
  • Units do not expire — they stay on your balance until you spend them or your account is deleted (deleting your account forfeits any remaining units).
  • The number of units each feature costs is shown before you press the button and may change over time; your existing balance is never reduced by a price change.

4. Purchases and refunds

  • Payments are processed by Stripe; prices are shown in pounds sterling at the point of purchase, and units are added to your balance immediately after payment.
  • By purchasing, you agree that we supply the units immediately. Units you have already spent are non-refundable.
  • Unspent units from a purchase can be refunded if you ask within 14 days of buying them (your statutory cooling-off right) — email support@character-assess.co.uk and we’ll refund the unspent portion to your original payment method.
  • Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a UK consumer.

5. Fair use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for anything unlawful, or to harass or harm others;
  • attempt to break, probe or overload the service’s security;
  • resell access, share invite codes publicly, or create accounts by automated means; or
  • copy or scrape the service’s content or questionnaires for commercial use.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If we close your account for a serious breach, unspent purchased units are not refunded.

6. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available and improving, but it’s provided “as is” — we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change or withdraw features. If we ever close the service entirely, we’ll give reasonable notice and refund unspent purchased units.

7. Our responsibility to you (liability)

You use Character Assess, and everything it produces, at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for:

  • any loss or harm arising from reliance on questionnaire results, scores, types or AI-generated content — or from any decision you make based on them (see section 1);
  • business losses of any kind;
  • failures caused by events outside our reasonable control — including outages of third-party services we depend on (payment, email, hosting and AI providers); or
  • loss of stored content. We take regular backups and reasonable care, but please download and keep your own copy of your PDF report.

Where we are liable — for foreseeable loss caused by us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care — our total liability to you is capped at the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or £25 if you have paid nothing). Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a UK consumer.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time (for example, when adding features). The latest version always lives at this page with its date above; significant changes will be flagged in the app.

9. Law and contact
